For the strawberry cupcakes, first prepare the batter. For the batter, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy, add the eggs and continue to mix.

Then stir in the flour mixed with baking powder, lemon zest and buttermilk and pour the batter into muffin cups.

Bake in the oven at about 170 °C for 20 minutes. Afterwards let the muffins cool down well. In the meantime, puree the strawberries and chill them.

For the frosting, cream the butter and stir in the cream cheese, sugar and the cooled, pureed strawberries.
